Ed Saxberger (Willem Dafoe), a forgotten New York poet, works in the post office. After an eager and flattering young admirer appears on his doorstep, he is beckoned into a coterie of twentysomething admirers who anoint him as a rediscovered genius. Intoxicated by the attention – and by the alluring presence of Gloria (Greta Lee), the group’s “tragic heroine” – Ed gradually reckons with the authenticity of his newfound poetic circle.

“There’s a marvelous tenderness and generosity to this elegant tale of autumnal regret; an intimate movie acted with effortless grace by Dafoe.” – Guardian. “There’s a satisfying depth to it, and the movie abounds in exquisite grace notes.” – Hollywood Reporter.

Unrated, 96 mins.

Cinema Series tickets are sold at the door only.  A book of 10 movie passes can be purchased separately at the Box Office, online or at the door on movie night for $60. Tuesday night screenings are presented with the captions on screen.
