Maestro Grant Cooper, Artistic Director

Bach & Beyond is a lively celebration of Baroque music with spirited performances of some of the greatest music ever written, presented here in the acoustically ideal setting of the Opera House.  Treat yourself to the lighthearted atmosphere that has distinguished  the Festival since its beginning in 1996 with incredible performances by acclaimed musicians from across the globe!  Though the music of Johannes Sebastian Bach is the inspiration and foundation of the Festival, we include other great composers whose works reflect Bach’s inspirational influence.

2024 PROGRAM
Join us for the 27th Bach & Beyond Baroque Music Festival, June 14-16, 2024.  Maestro Cooper has created an exciting program of contrasts and comparison.  Wolfgang Mozart, Antonio Salieri and Chevalier de Saint-Georges … who was the superior composer?  Through representative symphonies, the Bach musicians will present and explore these three contemporaries and examine their musical prowess.  The Festival also will feature a world premiere composition by Byron Adams for orchestra and oboe to feature our founding oboist, Cheryl Bishkoff.

Also this year, two pre-Festival movie screenings will preview the Festival’s focus on our three competing composers.

PRE-FESTIVAL MOVIE SCREENINGS

Saturday, June 8 – 2pm
