Heritage House & Garden Tour

Tour Hours: 10am - 4pm

Ralph Waldo Emerson said "the ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it."  Four of the area's homeowners will put that adage into action when they open their historic homes and gardens to several hundred "friends" as part of the 2015 Heritage House & Garden Tour, presented by the 1891 Fredonia Opera House.

Planned and coordinated in years past by the Fredonia Preservation Society, this year's event is being held as a fund-raiser for the Fredonia Opera House.  The tour is self-guided and the homes and gardens can be visited in any order.

Included on this year's tour are:

-- The Cherry Creek Inn and Gardens, Home of Sharon Howe-Sweeting, 1022 West Rd. (Rte. 68), Cherry Creek

-- Historic Lee Towne Adams House, Home of Nancy Adams Fry and Merv Fry, 21 Pearl St., Forestville

-- Barlow Century Farm (Home, Barn, Gardens and Vineyard), 371 West Main St., Fredonia

-- Farm House in the Canadaway Wood, Home of Nancy Adams Fry and Merv Fry, 2391 Bard Rd., Cherry Creek

-- 1891 Fredonia Opera House, 9 Church St., Fredonia ... Guided tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm

Two local plein air artists - Stephanie Brash and Beth Runkel - will be set up at Barlow Century Farm and The Cherry Creek Inn, respectively, capturing the beauty of the gardens and displaying their completed works.  Light refreshments will be served at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House.

Tickets are limited in number.  Pets are not allowed on the tour; and tour-goers are urged to refrain from taking pictures.
