About Stage on Screen

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of Dr. James M. and Marcia Merrins, the Opera House is able to present high definition (HD) live and captured live broadcasts of productions from stages around world. This series includes theatre productions from Broadway, from London's West End, and from world tours, ballet from Moscow's Bolshoi Ballet, and concerts from arenas and recital halls around the world, as well as unique one-time only features such as live broadcasts of radio shows like NPR's "Wait, Wait! ... Don't Tell Me" and "This American Life."

Assistive listening headsets are available for use with all Stage on Screen Series events.  Simply ask any usher or Opera House staff member.  Headset funding provided by Robert & Marilyn Maytum, the Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions Club, and by a grant from Theatre Development Fund's TAP Plus program in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts.

What are HD productions like??

Here is a short clip from London's National Theatre illustrating what National Theatre Live is.  All our HD Stage on Screen productions are similar in nature, whether they are ballets, concerts, plays and musicals, or special events.
