An evening of storytelling for adults ... Hosted by Doug Manly and featuring acclaimed storyteller Michael Parent, this evening of wild and witty stories is guaranteed to tickle your funny bone and make you laugh out loud!  Regional tellers Lorna Czarnota and Mike Rickert also will be featured with stories ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. 

Parent is a native Mainer of French-Canadian descent.  He has performed as a storyteller and singer, both in English and in French, throughout the United States and beyond since 1977.  He has been featured at many events including the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tenn., and international events in France, England, Ireland, Poland and New Zealand.  In addition to his performances for a wide range of audiences, he also leads storytelling, story writing and performance workshops.

Lorna CzarnotaLorna CzarnotaLorna Czarnota has been telling stories professionally since 1985.  She also is author of the award-winning "Medieval Tales that Kids Can Read and Tell."  An international storyteller, Czarnota performs and presents workshops at schools, libraries, museums, festivals and conferences among other venues.  She often incorporates music in her programs which include traditional and original stories and songs.

Mike RickertMike RickertMike Rickert has been telling stories in the Rochester area for more than 15 years.  He often tells to adults and presents a mixture of folk tales, farie tales, historical stories, humor and personal stories.  He also specializes in Erie Canal stories.  Earlier this summer, he told at the Storytelling Festival in Himrod and has attended past Fredonia Storytelling Festivals as a festival-goer and workshop participant.


The ticket includes a reception with the storytellers and light refreshments following the performance.  Part of the Fredonia Storytelling Festival.
